Two field hockey players who have trained with me for two years now were recently named to the All Conference Team of the Division III Commonwealth Conference. Tonya Rutt (Defender- 1st team) and Abigail (Abby) Eby (Goalie-2nd team) were both recognized for their outstanding play this season by making all-conference in arguably one of the most competitive in DIII field hockey. Abby was named conference “Goalie of the Week” four times this year, which was the most of any goalie in the conference. In addition to her all-conference honors, Tonya was also named to the Longstreth/NFHCA All-Regional Second Team.
Tonya and Abby have been two of the hardest working athletes to train with me, and this accomplishment is a testament to that hard work. Both of these athletes currently are tops in some of the records held by female athletes that I have trained (Abby currently holds both the box squat and bench press records, 285 and 135 respectively- not bad). I actually have a post of one of Abby’s workouts we did last off-season to improve her speed and movement efficiency while in goal.
